ETICS over CLT panels (130)
Wood has broken into the local construction sector to stay. Proof of this is that architects no longer boast of using it, to show that they undertake responsible, sustainable work. Instead, they use it because it is the most appropriate material to meet certain design requirements.
If the wood is covered on the outside with expanded polystyrene, then the architects are potentially contradicting the principles that guided its choice as the structural material. Possibly prefabrication and a clean, dry construction process had a lot to do with the use of the cross-laminated timber (CLT) panel.
The solution opts not only for the material, wood, but also for the system: panels without casting.
