An amazing facade with an amazing performance (068)

Energy-efficient architecture does not have to have a certain image. This is clear in the work of Sauerbruch & Hutton, which has a sober but colourful image.

The climatic behaviour of the building, and the façade as part of it, is explained by Andrew Kiel in the presentation Integrated design and detail for sustainable buildings. Wicona shows us how the façade was constructed, from the assembly of unitized panels in a workshop to their placement on site: https://youtu.be/ic16rYiKn6c. Impeccable!
Facad3s would like to highlight the working procedure, the close relationship between a team of architects and an engineering firm. This collaboration is common in their work. It allows the conception of buildings of a certain complexity in which energy issues are included in the first sketches.

Sauerbruch & Hutton integrate variables from the outset. All the variables evolve in a progressive, coordinated way to achieve a coral, interlocked architecture. Absolutely none of the parts can be understood without comprehending the whole.
